GREGORY CREWDSON: CATHEDRAL OF THE PINES
The woman facial expression and the rescuers further back make this image powerful.
The Women has witnessed an accident whist help comes to the rescue The photographer has used distance as a huge part of the creation of this image and uses facial expressions and body language to describe this picture. The blanket on the couch looks like it has been tossed. This suggests that the women has been startled by something and got up in shock. |
The man and woman have jut got into an argument. The man has left the car door open and gone into the house whilst the women stays in the car miserable.
The photographer uses the light effectively when he enhances it on the models face. This makes their facial expression stand out a lot more. |
The main focus point in this picture is the relationship between a sick father and his son who is try to accompany him.
The photographer uses reflection as a way of making the son feel present but not at the same time. The mirror can suggest that the son doesn't really want to be there but is trying, to stay by his fathers side even if they don't have a good relationship.

The journey of Germany, Berlin
Through out my journey in Berlin my family and I did a lot of sight seeing. We had taken a double decker bus around some parts of the city of Berlin and photographed them. I took a variety of shots of the river on my cousins boat but was unable to upload some because I did to save them. Berlin is a beautiful city and one of the most popular one in Germany as was a fun place to explore.

First response:
I have completed my ageing task and have tried to make myself look old. I have found a person on google images who has a similar face structure than me so it is easier to remove and plot the features on my own face. Skin tone played a significant role in this hole task as it had to be very similar to my own.
www: I have managed to replace the features on the old mans face an put it onto my own
Ebi: I focused with more detail on the little features such as the forehead lines and wrinkles

I have evidently used a picture from the past and placed it on to the actual picture in the present

Strand 1- Architecture
I have effectively used different angles to take the best pictures of archetcture making the buildings have a different image and perspective. Lighting has had an impact on the outcome of the image.

Alexey Bogolepov
Photographer Alexey Bogolepov lives in Parnas, a suburb in the north of St Petersburg. With the rapid expansion of his neighbourhood he has witnessed a changing cityscape. "Where recently there were only swampy grasslands dotted with lonely wooden houses and unsightly garage cooperatives there is now, and will be in the foreseeable future, a never-ending construction site,” he says. "For an observer this is a chance to catch a territory in transition, in a delicate and almost poetic state of being not quite urban and not quite rural.” The districts's name dates back to 18th century and comes from Mount Parnas, a 200-foot high artificial mound which the gentry would climb to view the setting sun. In the Soviet period the area was used for peat mining and the 1980s saw the creation of a vast industrial park. Unlike many of St Petersburg's other suburbs, Parnas is free from the legacy of Soviet housing blocks which gives the neighbourhood a uniquely desolate atmosphere.

The red lines really create a standing out image of the building. The yellow lines really contrast with the red. The colours really emphasises the contrast between they grey background and the building in the four ground. WWW: I was able to use my kills to make the lines as straight as possible when laying it on the building. EBI: I used a variety of different colours and tried to outline more lines deeper into the building.
South Bank
I have chosen south bank as my desired photograph location because I feel it has a variety of architectural shots which in can be taken.
I have chosen to go mid-day and stayed till dark which suggests the impact the weather conditions have on each shot. In my first few photos where it is bright, the sky in contrast with the buildings has a major impact on the feel its depicts. As it gets darker the feel of the photo in my opinion presents has a possessing effect.

I have taken shots of the bridge and off the bridge. I feel that the angle I photographed underneath the bridge has a powerful impact on everything else in the photo. The Darkness and width underneath the bridge can be intimidating. In comparison to me photographing off the bridge it suggests the bright side(literally). I have intentionally chosen the photograph the buildings for this distance so I was able get as much as possible and visually see the differences between each one.
In these photos it has gotten darker. The different coloured lights effectively contrasts with the buildings really making them stand out .
Although trees are not architecture in modern society it can be portrayed as natures architecture and the can be seen in the picture. It suggests that modern architecture has over powered natures architecture.

I have gone to south bank and photographed architecture at the national theatre.I have tried to capture the best images and angles so I am able to develop each image in photoshop effectively. I would agree that range and angle are the two main factors for a successful picture. Depending on where you stand for your architectural building can have an impact on the outcome of the picture and I have evidently showed this.
Here I have developed an image of architecture at the national theatre, not only that but I have used a different shade of colour to try and make the lines stand out. It would be even better if I used a multiple coloured lines to really exaggerate the topic artist work and put it into my own form.
I have used the colour yellow as it works well with the colour of the building, the lights and environment.
